What is ISO 45001:2015?
ISO 45001:2015 (officially ‘BS ISO 45001:2015‘) is an internationally-applied British Standard for occupational health and safety management systems. It exists to help all kinds of organizations & industry to establish and manage a sound occupational health and safety (ohs) performance. It is a widely recognized and popular occupational health and safety management system. It is a framework that you can use to help you put in place the policies, procedures, standards and control needed for your organization and people to achieve the best possible safe & working conditions, aligned to international best practice.
The ISO 45001:2015 specification was updated in July 2007 where the new specification was more closely aligned with the structures of ISO 9000 (Quality management) and ISO 14000 (environment management) so that organizations could more easily adopt ISO 45001:2015 alongside these existing management systems. The ISO 9000, 14000 & ISO 45001:2015 form a perfect triangle to encompass all work quality, environmental and occupational safety performance at the workplace!
