Is there an expiry to bizSAFE certification and what is the process to renew the certification?

In general, there is a 6 months validity for bizSAFE level 1-2 and 3 years validity for bizSAFE level 3-5 upon the date of approval of the bizSAFE status. 

The following table summarises the bizSAFE validity and procedures to renew the status.

bizSAFE Level 1

bizSAFE level 1 is valid for 6 months from the date of approval as long as there is no change in the CEO / Top Management who attended the bizSAFE Level 1 workshop.Submit bizSAFE level 1 renewal application online by attaching the relevant“Certificate of Attendance for bizSAFE Workshop for CEO/Top Management” for WSHC approval. Applicants are required to progress up to Level 2 and above in order to continue their bizSAFE Recognition.

bizSAFE Level 2

bizSAFE level 2 is valid for 6 months from the date of approval as long as there is no change in the appointed RM Champion who attended the bizSAFE Level 2 course. Submit bizSAFE level 2 renewal application online and attach the relevant “bizSAFE Workshop for CEO/Top Management” certificate of attendance and “WSQ bizSAFE Course on Risk Management Implementation Plan” certificate of attendance for WSHC approval. Applicants are required to progress up to Level 3 and above in order to continue their bizSAFE Recognition.
bizsafe3 logo imagebizSAFE Level 3bizSAFE level 3 is valid for 3 years upon the date of approval. Engage a MOM-approved WSH Auditor to audit the company’s Risk Management 
implementation. Submit bizSAFE level 3 renewal application on-line and attach the relevant certificate of attendance for “bizSAFE Workshop for CEO / Top Management”, “WSQ bizSAFE course on Risk Management” and a valid Risk Management Implementation audit report to WSHC for approval.
bizsafe4 logo imagebizSAFE Level 4bizSAFE level 4 is valid for 3 years upon the date of approval as long as there is no change in the appointed WSHMS Champion who attended the bizSAFE Level 4 course.Submit bizSAFE level 4 renewal application online and attach the relevant “bizSAFE Workshop for CEO / Top Management” certificate of attendance, valid Risk Management Implementation audit report and bizSAFE Level 4 course certificate of attendance to WSHC for approval.
bizsafe star logo imagebizSAFE STARbizSAFE STAR is valid for 3 years upon the date of approval. Note: For any relocation of operation or change in the nature of operation of the organization, WSHC reserves the right to request the company to re-audit its WSHMS by an SAC accredited auditor.Engage Singapore Accreditation Council (SAC) to recertify SS506 or provide ISO 45001:2015 or other equivalent certification. Submit bizSAFE STAR renewal application online and attach the following for WSHC approval. 

  • a valid SS506/ISO 45001:2015/equivalent certificate 
  • a Risk Management audit report by MOM approved WSH auditor 
  • Certificate of Attendance for bizSAFE Level 1 Workshop for CEO/Top Management
  • Certificate of Attendance for bizSAFE level 4 WSHMS course
